I don’t believe in an afterlife I believe in a resurrection.

I don’t believe in an afterlife I believe in a resurrection.
God is making man to have dominion over his creation; but he cannot entrust this task to anything less than himself. Therefore he is making man in his own image.
Currently it is a work in progress and the earth is His crucible.
“God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.” ” Genesis 1:28
“Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:” Psalm 8:6

In much the same way that Egypt was a place where the Hebrews were strengthened and multiplied this realm of vanity that we are in is a place where man is strengthened and multiplied.

Note how God refers to Egypt as a fiery furnace:

“But the LORD hath taken you, and brought you forth out of the iron furnace, even out of Egypt, to be unto him a people of inheritance, as ye are this day.” Deuteronomy 4:20

Also note how the same imagery (that is of a furnace, a tempering place) is used to describe the function and action of God’s wrath:

“Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because ye are all become dross, behold, therefore I will gather you into the midst of Jerusalem. As they gather silver, and brass, and iron, and lead, and tin, into the midst of the furnace, to blow the fire upon it, to melt it; so will I gather you in mine anger and in my fury, and I will leave you there, and melt you. Yea, I will gather you, and blow upon you in the fire of my wrath, and ye shall be melted in the midst thereof. As silver is melted in the midst of the furnace, so shall ye be melted in the midst thereof; and ye shall know that I the LORD have poured out my fury upon you.” Ezekiel 22:19 – 22

Also note how Jesus baptizes in fire:
“John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire:” Luke 3:16
What is the fire Jesus baptizes in?
“For our God is a consuming fire.” Hebrews 12:29
I am convinced that the lake of fire in revelations is nothing less than God himself.
Anyway yeah – excuse that tangent – so currently man does not have dominion but we do see Jesus who is currently the only finished Man.

“What is man, that thou art mindful of him? or the son of man, that thou visitest him? Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; thou crownedst him with glory and honour, and didst set him over the works of thy hands: Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him. But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.” Hebrews 2:6 – 9

There’s a hell of a lot of space out there that needs billions and billions and billions of”quickening (life-giving) spirits” 1 corinthians 15:45 to bring the glory of God which is life and love to every corner of it!!!

The bible is very explicit on what we have to hope for. It is not a vague hope; it is an unseen hope.

I’ll leave you with a quote from A. E. Knoch:

“Our political allotment is not on earth … The apostate church has retained a vague hope of “going to heaven,” after death. But their idea of what they will do there is not at all unlike the paradise of the Mohammedans.”

See you in Glory
